“Let God Arise and let His enemies be scattered”......Psalm 68:1

If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Romans 12:8 NLT

Over the years we have ministered to inmates who have been gunshot. I remember an inmate who was shot in the head and another who was shot by the police 6 times before being apprehended. Recently an inmate whose identical twin brother was shot and killed attended chapel service. As we shared the gospel message of Jesus Christ love we began to notice this brother bowing his head with his face in hands trying to cover his tears. He kept saying about his twin brother that he should still be here and not dead and everyone could sense the grief this young 19 year old inmate was experiencing. He began to cry uncontrollably. Brother Jim, Dennis and myself tried to console him but to no avail. He just kept saying that his twin brother should not have died but should still be here. Then the other inmates in the chapel began to speak words of encouragement to him. One of the older inmates who has been in & out of prison most of his life spoke to the young man and seemed to get his attention and the young inmate was able to get control over his emotions and listen to this 59 year old inmate. He shared how he had experienced grief when his sister had passed from cancer and said to the young inmate that the pain of his loss will subside over time and he would be Ok! What an experience to witness the love of Jesus Christ manifest through the inmates we are there to minister to. During another chapel service Brother JD and  myself were sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and we shared about this 19 year old inmate and how he lost his brother from a gunshot. One of the inmates spoke up and said that he has been shot eleven times. JD and myself were taken back with this statement and both of us responded how God has a powerful testimony to share through him. He agreed and was thankful for the Lord saving him and allowing him to continue his earthly journey. Yes, we all go through difficult times and when it seems the wind leaves our sails we pray and ask the Lord for a fresh new wind of His Holy Spirit to again fill our sails with His love, strength and courage to carry on.
