LGAM March-April 2026 NewsletterFrom the Desk of Brother Tom ![]() Let God Arise Ministries Inc. “Ministering God’s Love in the County & City Jails” Thomas M Bridges, Chaplain March-April 2026 Edition“Let God Arise and let His enemies be scattered” ......Psalm 68:1 ___________________________________________________________________________ A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. BETH Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. IS She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. TOM’S She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. VALENTINE Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:10-31 NIV “Celebrating 33+ years of service to Jesus Christ since September 1992.” 50 years ago on Valentine’s Day February 14, 1976 God blessed me with His gift from heaven my beloved wife Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Bridges. Normally this newsletter shares about what God is doing behind prison bars, however; this prison ministry could not stand the test of time without God who partnered me with a true and valued woman of God. I can truly say with all my heart that Proverbs 31 paints by the numbers exactly the woman Beth has grown to be. Creative, funny, caring, studious in God’s word, sensitive to those around her, loves and prays for her family, grateful and loves Jesus Christ with all her heart, mind and strength. Her qualities: She wakes and prays first, She searches the Word of God for Wisdom & Understanding, She works diligently with her hands, She is spiritually strong & confident, She takes care of her home, She is faithful and kind, She fears the Lord, She is disciplined and She always seeks God first. Over the past 50 years our marriage has endured the storms of life and through the many trials and testing Beth has stood strong and faithful never wavering in our marriage and her trust and personal relationship with her Jesus Christ. It was appropriate that we marry on Valentine’s Day. Marriage was forbidden during the reign of Emperor Aurelius. A 3rd century Roman Christian Bishop by the name of Valentine continued to marry soldiers in spite of Roman law. He was arrested and imprisoned. In prison a jailer’s daughter who was blind was healed from her blindness through Valentine’s prayers and literally “Love at First Sight” struck this couple. The night before his execution a passionate love letter was sent to the jailer’s daughter simply sign from your “Valentine”. You will receive this newsletter after Valentine’s Day has passed but to my beloved wife of 50 years and growing she will always be my “Valentine”.
