“Let God Arise and let His enemies be scattered”......Psalm 68:1

“This is what the LORD says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, saying, “Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the LORD. Jeremiah 33:10-11 NIV

*Celebrating over 25+ years of ministry to those behind bars in our local jails in Montgomery, Alabama. A special thank you to the volunteers and all of you who have prayed for, encouraged and supported me/us in this ministry over the years.

In the chapel service today an inmate spoke of his darkened past. Brother Tom," I was so ashamed of the things I did and those I did it with. I never felt like I could be forgiven of all my sins but someone kept drilling into my mind that we are saved by grace and not by works. As unworthy as I felt I began talking with the Lord from my heart just as we are talking now. He said I cannot explain it but share the experience that His peace came over me like I have never experienced in my life".

Over the years, I have heard many heart wrenching stories like this inmate shared. Men & women have decided in their own minds and hearts that they are not worthy of God's forgiveness and could never have a relationship with God. Praise God as we have all learned through our own personal experience that God's love & mercy endures forever and there is no sin so dark or valley so low that our God will not forgive or deliver us from.

In the scripture above we learn from Jeremiah also known as the weeping prophet that God's people in Judah and Jerusalem would be taken captive by a foreign nation because they would not repent and come and talk with God. The chosen people of God hardened their hearts and worshipped false gods. For forty years Jeremiah warned God's people and told them that they needed to repent and turn whole heartedly back to the Lord. God's people for over 70 years were taken captive into a strange land but after that time God returned His people back to the land of promise and the people and the land thrived once again. There is no height, breath, width or depth of God's unconditional love and those who have experienced this great love should be ready to share with those who feel unworthy or ashamed. We are all saved by grace and His grace is for everyone we meet. Even the hardest heart can be redeemed by His unconditional grace & mercy.

Let God Arise Ministries Inc. would like to take this time to thank you for your generous hearts, prayers and support to those incarcerated in our local Montgomery Alabama County & City jails. May Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ richly bless you and all your family in the New Year!  In His Agape Love always, Tom & Beth
